JavaScript Job: Head of Software Engineering (f-d-m)

Your role

Your mission

• You will work hands-on with your team to develop our Java and ReactJs application into a scalable, maintainable and secure AWS cloud-native, service-based architecture.
  
• Together with your team as well as with our CEO and CTO you will develop our roadmap and create a unified strategy for cloud transformation governance, automation, security, implementation and operations.
  
• You leverage your technical skills to build engineering excellence within your team that promotes and implements engineering best practices to ensure adherence to timeline and budget while driving quality and productivity.
  
• As an inspiring leader, you develop your team of currently 15+ engineers into a powerful and results-oriented unit that ensures rapid but sustainable business growth.
  
• You build an engineering culture of ownership and autonomy whilst day-to-day leading your team through the technical organizational challenges of SaaS development.

Your profile

• With over 8 years of experience in software engineering you have deep expertise in cloud architecture, IT service delivery, program management and strategy, preferably AWS, Java as well as Javascript/TypeScript.
  
• You bring a proven track record of at least 3 years in leading and growing high-performing teams in a Software as a Service (SaaS) and B2B environment. Accompanying a successful series A-funding in the past is a must.
  
• Your experience in the start-up environment is just as important as your history of successful cloud migrations to AWS and hybrid/private cloud. Ideally, you have in-depth knowledge of the process automation business.
  
• Not only do you have the ability to suggest competitive and innovative technical decisions, but you are also able to handle escalations, expert in conflict resolution and bring very fuzzy ideas and visions into tangible deliverables.
  
• Your analytical skills and problem-solving abilities are founded on your knowledge of SDLC processes (Agile, DevOps), cloud operation and support (ITIL) service delivery and hands-on ability to implement best practices.
  
• The strong ability to lead, inspire, engage and coach a diverse team enables your success. With excellent communication skills and empathy, you ensure well-managed projects and balanced stakeholder management.
  
• You are fluent in written and spoken English and enjoy working with people from different cultures and nationalities. Equally developed is your ability to present complex technical ideas in business-friendly language.
